In my physical science lab this morning the TA told everyone to form groups and share cool stories and the best ones would be reported back to the class. Standard getting to know you exercise, except I had a fantastic story!
When it was my groups turn I told my class that I was from England and the previous new years eve I had gone to multistake dance where one of my friends introduced me to one of his old mission companions, who was visiting, which just happens to be my TA!!
The look on his face was classic!
I never knew speaking up in class could be so much fun..

CHALLENGE
In the past i've completed both a meat free week and a sugar free week, I recently decided to embark on the hardest challenge yet - no carbs!
It's become somewhat of a family thing although we have mixed views. I'm not sure if i'll make seven days, my mum doesn't think she'll last three and Cori has no intention of lasting longer than an hour!
and to Danielle and Nicole, i'm throwing down the gauntlet, but you should know - there's a prize!!

Paris holds the key to the heart
Having come back to social Siberia for the summer, my parents were super awesome and sent me to Paris to see my best friend from my Woodford County days, Sara.
As i've been to Paris multiple times before I didn't feel any inclination to do all the 'touristy' things again, this freed my time up considerably and I was able to notice several things about Paris and about the French that I never had before.
The parking is not so great...

People watching is so much easier if you just face all the chairs out...

People actually do carry around baugettes everywhere :)

Oh, and I love Sara!!

Lasagna!
I really wish I had pictures of this because yesterday I made a lasagna that was kinda amazing!
I was super nervous about making a lasagna for the first time all by myself but I made it and it was so good! :D I have enough left for lunch today but that's it - between Chad and I and two of my roommates that just wanted a 'bite' it was essentially gone!!
Sometimes i'm just really impressive!!

I did something kinda crazy...
I've been delaying this post because I was waiting for some good pictures of my hair but i'm pretty sure that won't be for a few months so here it goes anyway!
A long time ago my roommates and I all decided to cut off 10inches of our hair and donate it. A week later we all chickened out, one boy in my ward was so pleased at this decision that he made us 'angel-hair pasta' for dinner! It was that day that Maddy and Lexie decided again that they should cut their hair. At the last minute I secretly decided to join them again.
I wanted to surprise everyone, and I think its safe to say that I did!!

hello again!
At the risk of becoming one of those people that start/stop blogs at their pleasure, i've decided to take another whack at sharing my life with those of you that care!!
Luckily I have something really good to start back up again with :D
Today was the festival of colors at the local hindu temple, so naturally we decided to go along, video camera in tow (thanks mum!) to celebrate the religiousness!

So Mature
Today I proved my adulthood once and for all by voting!
Never before had I noticed the remarkable difference between 18 year olds and 17 year olds. Today for some reason it became amazing clear.. Several times I found myself forced to comment "...and that is why 17 year olds cannot vote!!"

The Challenge!
This week my sisters and i have had a hard core challenge going, to not eat sugar for a whole week. To sweeten the pot a little, we each got one freebie. I've been saving mine all week, passing up all sorts of treats and goodies. Hardest of all was watching my mum bake hot cookies and not snaffle anything!
That right there is self control!
Last night i used my freebie. The little girl i babysit made a cake and was so excited for me to try it, i just couldn't say no. It tasted okay but the memory may not be enough to get me through Sunday completely sugarless! I'm such a good person!

my welsh adventure
This weekend i had to take my SATs, but just to be different i took it in Wales, in a castle!! I was there for six long hours, totally convinced i was in Harry Potter the entire time. Luckily it was a totally modern castle. The holes in the wall had become windows, the courtyard became a sports field and the torture chamber became the girls toilets!

family day out
Yesterday for our family, represented some conflicts of interest...

my parents felt the urge as they sometimes do to 'get cultured' and so took us to the maharaja exhibition, which we did not find too amusing...
the tables turned when we did a spot of shopping, pleasing Cori and I greatly, but for some reason not my mother...
luckily, the pot was then sweetened all round, when we went to try a new Brazilian restaurant - where everyone is happy!!Wednesday, 4 November 2009
thoeretical driver
yesterday was my driving theory test, and I PASSED! first time if you were wondering..
and then the coolest thing of all - when we were half-way home mum pulled over and told me to post a letter. When i got back she was in the passenger seat and L-plates had appeared on the car! My mum has been procrastinating putting me on the insurance for weeks now so i was so suprised. so then i drove home =D it was terrifying but quite good fun.

all things miniature
For youth conference last weekend we had to stay at members houses over night. Our house was fantastic! Five of us were upstairs in the playroom, which happened to be the coolest room ever! We may have had a little bit too much fun...
tiny cars
tiny cleaning supplies
tiny mirror

tiny basketball

My favourite the tiny chairs!
And we learn from this that i was clearly not bought enough things as a child!!

I love her really
Today in his talk, my dad used Cori and i disagreeing as an example. He called Cori loud and me subtle and devious. Me!? Can you even imagine?
So later this afternoon, lacking a wholesome sunday activity, i was trying to talk to Corinne and she kept running off. Eventually, she for some reason felt the need to lock herself in my parents room. About 10mins later i got bored.. so taking inspiration from my older sister i climbed out of the bathroom window, along the roof and stood outside my parents window. Cori jumped about a mile =]
A couple hours later i happened to be passing when Cori came out of the room. I shouted boo and she jumped quite possibly even higher =D it was the funniest thing i've done all day!
I really am a nice sister though!!

home alone vent
Last night my parents went on an extended biking trip leaving friday morning and not getting back till saturday night. My mum wasn't crazy about the idea, but my dad loves Cori and I, so they left us alone.
Turns out my mum shouldn't have worried. I came home from a movie expecting to rave it up with Corinne. Unfortunately she had other ideas. I honestly think i would have had more fun if my parents had stayed home!!

the coming together of the michelles
Like any two young academics, we used the chance to learn about culture, each other and important life lessons! For instance;

England doesn't seem to have this architecture thing down yet
Beefeaters are the coolest people you will ever meet!
